Summer Wedding at Lot 8 San Diego

first kiss lot 8 wedding

Lot 8 is one of San Diego’s best kept hidden gems when it comes to wedding venues. What was once a simple parking lot now holds the perfect DIY space for couples to curate their own dream wedding! Filled with live succulents, lush greenery, palms overhead and an open ceiling to allow California’s warm sunset’s to illuminate events – Summer weddings at Lot 8 are truly magical.

Gabe and Sandee chose Lot 8 for their summer wedding for various reasons. Having eloped privately before the big day, they really wanted something that was going to be spacious enough to include all of their closest friends and family while also providing enough room for customization so that Sandee could put her creative mind to work. Sandee did just that and the outcome was incredible! Personal touches like a traveling wagon bar, photo booth and dessert spread were added to tie in their upbeat personalities!

The morning of the wedding was nothing short of perfect. Drinks were flowing, laughter filled the room, happy tears and everything in between. Sandee had a tender first look with her daughter and mother followed by her bridesmaids while Gabe, his son and groomsmen did final touches in the suite next door. A little side note, Sandee and Gabe’s family blended officially that day! We loved seeing how they included their children in their wedding day individually and together. Ps, if you take a peek at one of those first photos of Gabe, that is actually a tattoo of Sandee sending him a love letter!

Though Gabe and Sandee did have a traditional wedding at Lot 8, it was important to them to have a private first look to themselves as well. They chose to do their first look in Balboa Park surrounded by expansive palms and the sound of ocean waves. Gabe’s reaction to Sandee tugged at heart strings all over. Even though they had eloped previously and Gabe had already seen Sandee in her wedding dress before, he was overcome with emotion and looked at her like it was the first time he had ever seen her. On a side note, we have been around Sandee and Gabe several times and I can attest that he always looks at her with this love and adoration.

Since Lot 8 is a smaller wedding venue, Gabe and Sandee decided to travel off the venue to Old Town San Diego to do bridal party photos. Old Town San Diego provides gorgeous historical sites, bright pops of color with different architecture and a charisma that can’t be beat making it the perfect fit for bridal party photos!

A simplistic arch decorated with large bundles of dried pampas against a wall of live succulents created the dreamiest ceremony setting. Gabe and Sandee shared sweet words and their first kiss before being escorted back down the aisle by the cutest veil assistants ever! After a short cocktail hour of mingling, the bridal party was brought in with a “welcome shot” in front of the traveling wagon bar and their Summer Wedding at Lot 8 was ready to really begin!

The Meadow at Schnepf Farms Wedding

the-meadow-at-schnepf-farms-wedding

Tucked in between a forest of 35 year old pine trees hides one of Arizona’s most incredible wedding venues. When it comes to wedding destinations, The Meadow at Schnepf Farms checks every box on the list. While providing a secluded and quaint space for a more intimate celebration, The Meadow also has enough land to be a perfect fit for larger events as well making it truly the best of both worlds. To top it off, you do not have to drive 2+ hours to get here. You would never guess, but it’s actually located in the East Valley!

John and Hilary’s wedding day could only be described as something straight out of a fairytale. With a healthy mix of Coachella vibes and all things Boho-Chic sprinkled in to tie in the perfect combination of their personalities. The rooms included for couples when getting married in The Meadow at Schnepf Farms were a personal favorite. Combined with woodsy features, it is a whimsical experience for couples who truly want to feel as if they are saying “I do” in an enchanted forest off-grid. Hilary’s suite was a tiny cabin where she and her bridesmaids sipped on rose and laughed off nerves where John had a tent pitched for he and his groomsmen to enjoy the open meadow.

Have you ever heard the phrase that rain on your wedding day is lucky? John and Hilary might as well have struck gold on their wedding day because dang did it pour! The down pour cleared just as the bridal party lined up to begin their walk down the aisle and the sun shined down on Hilary as she walked to her future groom. See what I mean about this wedding being an actual fairy tale? Hand written vows, happy tears and plenty of beautiful dried pampas and pine cones to enhance The Meadow at Schnepf Farms scenery.

After the ceremony, the couple stepped away to enjoy a quiet moment alone before being embraced by their friends and family. The Meadow at Schnepf Farms reception set up was any Boho-Chic lovers dream. Long wood tables with greenery, long stemmed lit candles, gold accents, macrame seating charts and hand written on name cards on leaves were the perfect addition to the couples Pinterest worthy wedding. John and Hilary went above and beyond for guests even offering a fresh pasta bar and a photo bus for guests to have a keepsake from the wedding.

Flowing booze, delicious desserts and a solo performance from the groom himself – John and Hilary’s reception was anything but basic. Priceless and heartfelt toasts kept everyone cheerful until the DJ brought out some late 90’s beats and the party got started. Dress now ombré from the mud and all, John whisked Hilary away with a sparkler send off. It was the perfect finish to their Meadow wedding at Schnepf Farms.

Torrey Pines Engagement Session | T + T

couple romantic kiss

As desert dwellers with a soft spot for all things travel, Tyler  + Taylor decided to make the trek to California for their Torrey Pines Engagement Session. Located in San Diego, Torrey Pines is one of the wildest stretches of land on the Southern California coast. With it’s vast landscapes at every turn this made for the perfect location for a destination engagement session!

We began shooting as the sun fell over the coast line after a short hike through Guy Fleming Trail. Guy Fleming Trail is one of the most popular trails in Torrey Pines with it’s lush greenery, rocky terrain and expansive overlook of the Pacific Ocean. As we arrived at our first stop on the trail, the sun vanished behind thick clouds and created the most magical overcast lighting with sun rays only just peaking through into view.

Taylor, with her attention to detail and fabulous style, pieced together their outfits herself to truly tie in a color palette that would enhance the natural beauty of the reserve. Tyler + Taylor brought two outfits along for their Torrey Pines Engagement Session. One, a little more dressed up and the second a more casual option that is easier to move around in. An outfit change is a must during any engagement session because we are then able to capture two entirely different looks. This is an incredible way to get such a nice variety for a guestbook, prints, save the dates or a nice album!  A perk offered to wedding clients when you are booked with us is a digital outfit guide emailed directly to you so that there is no second guessing what the heck you should even wear to achieve those “goals” worthy photos.

After spending time at the top of Guy Fleming Trail, we made our way down to the beach, taking in the view from below the cliffs and listening to the sounds of the waves crashing against the rocks. Regardless of the weather being overcast, we were graced with the most breathtaking sunset. A favorite during part two of your engagement session is getting that movement going. The salty ocean water was a perfect prop to splash, kick and dance around getting rid those pre-session nerves! Snuggling on the beach alone, (you heard me right, we really did have that ENTIRE beach to ourselves at the end) was a perfect final touch to wrap up Tyler + Taylor’s Torrey Pines Engagement Session.

Dusk Wedding at The Ice House | N+ K

Nick + Kelly tied the knot with their romantic and moody wedding at the Ice House. We were there to capture every emotional tear and every bubbling cheer. Nick + Kelly wanted something truly different for their wedding day, and we think they nailed it. From the dusk ceremony, donut wall (with the best donuts ever), the detailed decor choice to the elaborate dance floor that was packed the entire night, this wedding had such a great feel.

The Ice House, located in the historic warehouse district in downtown Phoenix, is one of the most sought after wedding venues in Arizona. Between the industrial interior, open ceiling ceremony site and the local art displayed throughout the venue – The Ice House provides a unique and authentic experience to all guests.

Nick + Kelly’s family and friends spoke about the couple to say how different they are in so many ways, but balance each other so perfectly. We couldn’t agree more! Getting to know this couple over the last year, we were able to witness just how incredible they are together. If you need any more reason to obsess over them, for their engagement, Nick actually recreated the tea kettle scene from The Office to propose to Kelly during Christmas!

Kelly and her bridesmaids began the day bumping Lizzo and popping champagne in their fabulous bridesmaids pajamas. Nick and his groomsmen had the downstairs portion of the venue where they prepped Nick with shots and last minute words of encouragement. One of the sweetest things about the pre ceremony moments was Nick reading his vows over and over again. It was so touching to see the creases in the paper revealing really how many times he had looked back at them over the last few days. Dressed in all black, per the couples request, guests began to arrive and sat in the candle lit rows ready to watch Nick + Kelly say “I do.”

Nick + Kelly’s reception hall was something straight out of your dreams. The open ceiling structure, candle lit place settings, extravagant floral installations and modern guest cards were to die for. After being toasted by friends and family, Nick + Kelly opened their dance floor to their guests and their celebration at the Ice House began.

Tanner + Maria | Arizona Wedding Photography

Tanner + Maria’s wedding day was perfect, down to the last detail.  Church has been an important part of their lives, so they naturally wanted to incorporate that into their wedding day.  They chose to have their ceremony at the Saint Juan Diego Catholic Church in Chandler, Arizona, just south of Mesa. Their November wedding was full of love, family, fresh florals and tons of partying with their closest friends.
